Description of Submission: "My drawing represents the rights and freedoms that all gays, lesbians, bisexuals, and trangender citizens should have. In the hand, there is a charm of two female gender symbols, connected. This represents the union of two lesbian (or gay, bisexual, or trangender) people. I also drew two monarch butterflies, representing the same two lesbian women as portrayed by the charms in the hand. The butterlies symbolize the personifications of true liberty: beautiful creatures that can fly away whenever they wish. I drew them to symbolize the freedoms that all gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender people should have in terms of rights, freedoms, and acceptance." - Caroline
Why Karen and Melody Liked It: We liked the artistry and directness of the drawing. It's simple but conveys a strong message.. |
