Description of Submission:
"I'm not transgender; I don't think I ever will be. But did, and probably still am, going through that "tomboy" phase in
my life. I don't really want to be a girl; I don't like being stereotypical, and I want to reject the societal standards of
"girliness" as harshly as I can. I'll wear what makes me comfortable, because I think being myself is better than what
being something for a stranger. My picture shows a boy, struggling with gender identity and wondering if conformity
is better than being true to himself. However, you'll notice that the picture shows the yellow skirt as the only source of
light in the darkened, dull room, signifying that the only way to survive in obscurity and cruelness of the world is to be
yourself." - Anonymous
