Poem

“Just Another Day”

By Kerinna Barnes

Desciption of Submission: None provided

I walk in the class with tired, red eyes

I didn’t even notice

 The snickering lies

Last night, I was up late studying for this test

Exactly the reason why I had no rest

I sat down and Rose looks me dead in the eye

And popped the legendary question:

Do you like GIRLS or GUYS?

The group of girls stopped, then looked me dead in the face

I felt like I was in a very bizarre place

But confidently, I smiled and then replied

“Both. I like both girls and guys.”

They stared in confusion

But I passed my test on Transfusions

And that was it for that day

Because she had nothing more to say

Sexual Orientation is just a piece

Of the puzzle we are composed to be
