Welcome to our website!  We would like to share our experiences as a lesbian couple with our friends and families.   Have fun exploring!! - Karen and Melody (April 28, 2009)

Our History: We  met online on the ABC's All My Children Bianca message  board on January 22, 2001.   We had a long distance relationship for a year and a half.  Then, Karen moved from Texas to California to be with Melody.

We have started our own scholarship!  The KarMel Scholarship  is a scholarship created to encourage students to write/create something that will express their views on the gay/lesbian/bi/transgender topic. The 2009 KarMel Scholarship is officially closed.  Results will be posted July 2009. 2010 KarMel Scholarship information/application will be posted in September 2009. Currently: We have been together for seven years.  We signed our California Domestic Partnership papers in Feb 2007.   We have have a wonderful big family of 12 indoor cats, 2 outdoor cats and 4 foster kittens/cats.

Come see our 2009 Happy New Year eCard! Well 2008 was a pretty packed fun-filled year.  - Karen's mom and Melody's sister both got married this year.  - We welcomed our first niece, Gina.  - Our outdoor cat, R.J. passed away.  - However we soon got busy fostering a new set of kittens and cat for the holiday.  We called them Dasher, Dancer, Prancer and Vixen.  - A family of racoons came to visit our home.  - We had some outdoor adventures to Yosemite and Mt. Tampalais.  - We continued our tradition of decorating Christmas tree with our KarMel Scholarship submission on display in the San Jose downtown Christmas town center area.  - We created our best Christmas display of villages that was kitty proof.  - We also got pictures with Santa. For 2009, we will re-visit some of our favorite places, like Maui, Mt. Tamalpais and Crater Lake.  We will also attend Karen's high school reunion in Texas. We look forward to another great 2009 year! - Karen and Melody

Our Herb and Vegetable Garden (June 2007)

Our Deck (Oct 2006)

We started last summer 2005 building this deck.  After a year of hard work, here is the final product.  We did all the deck work ourselves, except for the fence and patio door that was contracted out.  We also layed pavers, installed a water fountain pond, put up a pergola, installed a drip system for the pond plants, and put pebble stones around the deck.
